Arthur thought it was going to feel extremely awkward at first and in the end both Alfred and him would decide against it. However it felt right and he felt himself snuggling into the American, becoming instantly comfortable and relaxed. It's perfect, Arthur thought, but stopped his tongue form saying such words. "I'm fine." He confirmed allowing himself to be closer to the warmth.

He grinned, he still wasn't tried right away, but Alfred seemed to drift away. However Arthur felt himself relax even to where if he really tried he could fall asleep and he did eventually. It was odd because he didn't curl up like he usually did, he hadn't the last few nights, but the pain had most likely stopped him. Yet with Alfred he didn't need to curl up in his little ball.

The Englishman had nuzzled his way into Alfred's neck and chest. Happy there and falling a sleep not stirring even at the slightest thing. Merely hummed and snuggled in more.

Waking up with Arthur locked in his gentle embrace was just as beautiful as falling asleep. His first conscious thought was about the soft, warm weight pressed up against his chest which was soon followed by the equally nice revelation that he felt completely rested. He slowly drifted back into full awareness, sky blue eyes opening to take in the sight before him. Arthur was nestled into his chest, looking totally peaceful. His choppy blond hair was spiked out in all directions, but combined with his content expression, he looked more like a child then a former criminal. Alfred smiled fondly at the adorable view and pressed a sleepy kiss against the Brit's forehead.

All around them were long shadows, signalling that night was fast approaching, but Alfred didn't have the heart to wake his partner. Arthur looked so calm laying in his arms, and after all the stressful days they had, he deserved a good rest. But he knew they had to get moving again. Once they reached his home, he would give Arthur all the time in the world to rest and recuperate (as long as it involved him being permitted to hold him like this). "Arthur?" He murmured softly, pressing a light kiss against his forehead. Francis and Matthew were sure to be in soon, and the last thing he wanted was to be caught in such an intimate position. Well, to be honest, he didn't really mind, but given Arthur's reactions to Francis, he kind of doubted that the Englishman would be pleased if they were to walk in. "Arthur," He said again, a bit louder this time followed by a gentle shake. "We need to get moving soon." He planted another kiss against his forehead, loving the light scent of tea, gunpowder, and something that was undefinable that seemed to belong solely to Arthur. "Wake up Arthur."

Groaning slighting at the sound of his name being called, Arthur stirred ever so slight. A simple move of his leg or a wiggle of his shoulder. He didn't want to wake up, not at all. He was too warm and comfortable to even think that the idea of waking up was a good one. However he eventually opened his eyes when the pleas for him to wake up wouldn't stop. He turned and to look up at meet Alfred's face looking down at him almost lovingly. He's face blossomed pinked, no one had ever looked at him like that before, yes there were looks, but not like that. He leaned up as best he could and place a kiss on Alfred's lips, as if to say Thank you.

He pulled back slowly before glancing around the room. It appeared night was falling. He wished they didn't have to leave, but it was probably the best. "We should probably get ready to leave." He said sounding somewhat disappointed but it was for the best. He slowly eased himself up into a seating position. "Hopefully, Matthew and Francis got something done."

Arthur hoped they did, after all someone had to productive while they lazed away the day. There was a knock on the door before it opened and Francis peeked his head in. "Oh good, you two are up." The Frenchman said beaming.

The moments before Arthur awoke were breathtaking. He watched with undivided fascination as his eyelids slowly opened to reveal twin pools of emeralds. The sleepiness slowly faded away into understanding when he turned to gaze up at Alfred. Than, his pale face flushed a pretty shade of pink when the full realization set it - Alfred was captivated by every movement. Thankfully, Arthur didn't seem to notice his strangely quiet, attentive behavior. Instead, he leaned up and placed a gentle kiss against Alfred's chapped lips. The young sheriff flushed a deep red at the action, for it was so unexpected. So far, he had been the one initiating most of the kisses (save for the first one they shared, when Arthur pulled him out of his embarrassed rambling). It felt sort of nice to have it the other way around. Alfred bit back a smile and silently hoped that Arthur would kiss him unexpectedly more often.

"Hmm?" He glanced back at his partner in vague confusion before suddenly remembering the reason he had awoke the man in the first place. "Oh! Right, we should probably get moving." It was too bad really - he would have been perfectly content holding Arthur in his arms the rest of the night (and possibly the next morning if he could get away with it). But, they had other matters to attend to. First of which, getting dressed. Alfred had just managed to slip his shirt on and was working on the buttons when Francis poked his head him. He spared the Frenchman a shrug and handed Arthur his own - inwardly wincing when he realized how badly ripped up and bloodstained it was. "We're just getting ready. Have you and Mattie figured out how we're going to travel?" Matthew appeared on the other side of the door, shooting Francis irritated glares every few seconds. "Francis here managed to get us a couple of horses." 'By illegal means', remained silent, although glaringly obvious to everybody in the room. "I still think we should travel by carriage in light of Mr. Kirkland's wound, but Francis," He shot the man another glare, "Seems to think we are too vulnerable and opted against that."

"Wait, will Arthur be alright than?" Matthew nodded, assuring his brother that if they traveled slow, his stitches shouldn't break. Alfred remained unconvinced, but it was better than the alternative, so he nodded. Once they were ready to depart, he pulled Arthur into his chest, holding him bridal style. Off to the side, Francis snickered. "I think that Mr. Kirkland can walk out of the building on his own, oui?" Alfred turned red and began sputtering nervously as he set his partner back down. "Sorry! I just... without thinking..." He turned bright red and walked faster to catch up with his brother. Matthew just sighed at his antics, but didn't say anything. Together, the two walked out of the building to where two horses stood waiting. "Wait a second, why are there only two horses?" Both brothers asked, turning around the face the grinning Frenchman. Francis leaned in and grabbed for Matthew's hand, yanking him towards the first horse. "Mattheiu and I will take this one." Alfred watched with pink cheeks as his brother was forced onto the horse with the perverted man before slowly turning to face his injured partner. "I guess that leaves us," He said, laughing nervously. The flushing sheriff than leaned in and wrapped his arms around Arthur, carefully maneuvering him up onto the front of the horse. Then, in a more fluid movement, he took the place behind him and wove both hands around his small waist, pulling him in for security. "Is this okay? If you ever feel unsteady... just hold onto me. I'll keep you safe."

Arthur slide his shirt on with some ease. Wrinkling his nose at it. He really wanted one of his own shirts because it didn't show what had happened to him. There was nothing he could do now. He didn't listen much to what was being said, till Alfred lifted him up, bridal style none the less. He blushed, he had grown use to Alfred picking him up, but he had never truly been completely all there like this time. Francis comment didn't help because he was put right back down with a quick apology and walked away. "No honestly..." but the young sheriff was already gone.

Arthur turned and glared at the Frenchman, who helped him to steady a bit. "Don't be like that, I know you can walk." Francis said walking a bit in front of him.

"What happened yesterday doesn't count, that was all will power." Arthur growled, gripping his side with his right hand to keep it in check while he walked after Francis. They came tot he starts and Arthur would have whacked him if he was closer. "Damn Frog, stairs and flat ground are two very different things." He growled out before slowly making his way down them.

Eventually he made it outside to find two horses, and possessed the same shock as the brothers. He rolled his eyes at Francis when he heard the splitting of them. The more Arthur thought about it, it made sense. There was someone there to brace Arthur, even if it would be ten times easier in a carriage, horses were fast. Alfred's voice suddenly brought him back and he gave an awkward grin before he was lifted up and placed on the horse gently. Francis snickered a bit and Arthur happily flicked him off. He blushed lightly when Alfred got behind him and got a secure hold on his waist. "Ah, yes..." Arthur said to Alfred's last comment.

He felt like a girl, or he felt that it must be what being a girl felt like. Arthur had ridden around with some of his younger cousins when he would visit his aunts estate. Arthur had always been the one behind controlling the horse. He blushed at the feeling of Alfred behind him, it felt natural but there was still a bit of oddness from the fact that Arthur wasn't use to someone behind him. He had a feeling it was going to be a long ride.

Alfred's cheeks felt like they had been permanently stained red from embarrassment. He was pressed up against Arthur's back, his smaller frame fitting snugly up against his own. It felt just as natural a holding the Englishman while the two of them slept, with one glaring exception - this time, they had an audience. Not only his brother and the perverted Frenchman (who was staring at them with a knowing smirk), but the townspeople were staring up at them like they were committing a sin simply by existing. He inwardly grumbled about the narrow mindedness of humans as he took up the horses reigns. Not even bothering to wait for the other two, he lightly kicked the horse into motion. The slight jostle caused Arthur's body to slide backwards into his, his backside now pressed a little too closely to a certain part of the American's anatomy. Instantly, Alfred's face went red. Oh Lord, He thought to himself, trying desperately to ignore the odd position as simply keep moving. Of course the slight bouncing movement caused by the horses steps did nothing to help his situation and he quickly had to bit back his groans of frustration. This was going to be a very, very long trip.

* * *

Sometime after midnight, the group decided to stop for a quick rest. Surprisingly, their journey had been going smoothly, meeting no one but a few other wary travelers coming back the way they had come. Although the land was dark and barren, the light from the full moon had made it easy to navigate through the vast desert. They quickly located a flat stretch of land, mostly free of large rocks or desert brush to stretch out on for a few short minutes. Francis and Matthew went off to lay next to each other a few yards away, simply locking hands as they stared up at the open sky. Alfred gently helped Arthur down off the horse and settled him so he lay comfortably against the ground. "How are you holding up?" He asked, dropping down to occupy the space beside his partner. Most of the trip had been spent in awkward silence, only occasionally broken by Alfred asking if the other needed anything. It unnerved the young sheriff, but he was far too nervous to bring himself to say much else. Now that he was no longer facing the back of Arthur's head, words became even harder to find, leaving him only to cough awkwardly before tilting his head to the sky.

He stared up at the worlds above them with curious eyes. When he was a child growing up back in Virgina, he used to sneak out in the middle of the night and stare up at the sky. He used to imagine that there was another little boy, thousands of miles above him, staring up at the sky, wondering the just like he was. Now he wondered what that little boy was thinking about now that he was grown up. Were they the same things he himself was wondering? Did he also have a person laying beside him that he wanted nothing more than to give all the world to? Alfred didn't know, but it was comforting in a way to imagine that there was somebody else out there that was just as confused as him. "I wonder what it would be like," He murmured softly, raising a hand as if to graze the stars above, "To be up there among the stars. Do you think it would be same? With somebody staring up at us, wishing they knew what it was like to be where we are?" Alfred sighed and let his hand drop down to his side. His eyes were still angled up towards the sky, twin stars reflecting in those clear pools of blue. "Ignore me, I'm just thinking aloud..."

Arthur thought he could never hate horses, and then he found he was extremely close to it. He was happy for the break, not for the reason one might think, but he needed a break before he lost it. Alfred helped him down and made sure he was settled. "I'm a little sore," and fighting back being aroused Arthur said with a grin, "nothing else." He was somewhat happy they weren't awkwardly sitting on a horse having small conversations of Arthur insisting he was fine before trying to think of something to not make everything go south.

However the stop would help. He glanced up at the stars and grinned. It was differently a different view from the one he remembered back in England. He remembered sneaking out with some of the other boys from his private school and wandering away to do whatever boys did at that age. He turned when Alfred started talking and smiled slightly. "I don't know Alfred," Arthur said even after the apologized, gently taking his hand gently. He had never really thought about what it was like to be up with the stars, he had always enjoyed looking at them. "I've always sort of just looked at them." Arthur said. His green eyes watching Alfred.

This Town is Big Enough... - Page 7 Empty Re: This Town is Big Enough...

Post by Sheriff Jones Thu Sep 01, 2011 12:46 pm

Alfred often dreamed of far off worlds. Sitting out in the middle of the vastness of the untamed desert, staring up at the wide sky, how was it possible not to think of? Each of those twinkling stars that smiled down upon him held an unexplored land with a different type of adventure waiting. He often found himself, during the quiet nights, wishing that he could find a way to escape this world to claim those adventures as his own. A hand slipped within his own, pulling him back to the reality of the moment. Alfred tilted his head, instantly being caught within Arthur's fiery emerald eyes. His breath caught in his throat. He looked so beautiful laying there, his hair messy from the long ride and his cheeks slightly pinked from the cold. But his eyes. Lord he had never seen a color so vibrant, not in all his life. The reflection of the stars above were caught in those beautiful pools, bringing out the shiny depths of their hidden beauty. Alfred couldn't call to memory of a more enchanting sight.

"You look so beautiful," He said, for once more overcome by embarrassment by allowing such a honest thought pass through his lips. The moment was too perfect to deny. Laying under the stars with their hands intertwined - it was like a dream. Alfred sat up (careful to keep their hands locked together) and shifted so his torso hovered inches away from Arthur's. In order to keep his balance, he pressed his free hand against the ground beside the others cheek. For a moment, all he did was stare. If he had been in any right sense of mind, he would have started blushing or sputtering nervously as he tried to retract all his previous actions, but for now, he was calm. This felt right. Staring down at the stars in Arthur's eyes, he leaned forward and pressed their lips together. Their lips met in a slow, sensual dance that very quickly set fire to Alfred's body and mind. He pressed deeper against Arthur's lips. The desperate need to feel more, to taste more, to touch more was overriding his every rational thought until the only thing he could comprehend was a single phrase. Love.

The realization hit him so hard that he had to pull back just to catch his breath. Alfred panted heavily, cheeks nicely flushed, and heart pounding. Was this what love felt like? He had never even been close to feeling the sensation before, although he had heard stories. Everything seemed to fit, but was it even possible to love somebody after so little time? They had scarcely known each other for a few days - and he knew little about Arthur's past. Could what he be feeling really be described as love? Alfred didn't know. But staring down at the intoxicatingly beautiful creature before him brought feelings into his young heart that he never knew existed before and he never wanted to be parted from this persons side if he could help it. So, yes. He was young and he didn't know much about the world, but he could understand his own feelings. If this wasn't love, then he wasn't sure if it existed at all. "I think I love you." He said quietly, but without any hint of doubt. "No, I take that back. I'm sure I love you."

Beautiful? Him? Sure Arthur had attracted people when they didn't see his face (mainly his eyebrows), but once they saw it they seemed slightly less interested in him. Woman had always sort of fancied him, but it wasn't the same returning feelings. He wondered if he should tell Alfred other wise, but the man was just staring at him. Arthur's green eyes looked all about his face. The sheriff's blue eyes reminding him of the bluest sky he's seen in his whole life, and it was staring back at him.

"Alfred?" He questioned nervously. He was about to ask if everything was okay when the American slowly leaned down and their lips meet. Arthur found himself leaning up, his free hand gently coming up to run through Alfred's hair. The world was utterly perfect and Arthur could stay like that forever. Alfred pulled away when it came time for air and Arthur found himself happily panting and wanting more, just because everything felt right.

The American's words caused a breath to get stuck in his throat. Arthur had heard the words a lot, but for some reason when Alfred said them his body could function correctly and his heart beat out any logical way of thinking. His hand slide out of Alfred's hair and on to his shoulder, fiddling a bit with the man's collar. He swallowed, unsure what to say back, and his mind wasn't working well enough to think of something to tell the man.

"Alfred..." he said slowly, trying to think of something reasonable. "I..." He can't think straight even though everything seemed so perfect things weren't. He honestly cared for Alfred, more than he should considering how long they knew each other, and he was overly thankful of the man for turning him around. Everything is worth it, he thought his green eyes still looking at Alfred. Arthur remembered when he asked Francis randomly want love was like. The Frenchman had shrugged a bit and said he didn't know, it he figured it felt like everything had a purpose and felt perfect. "I don't think I'm beautiful, or worthy to be love by someone like you," he said after a while, "but I can't help but want it." He put his forehead to Alfred's and closed his mind. "I don't know what loving someone, or being loved by someone feels like, but if it's anything like this, I can say, I love you too." It felt to right rolling off his tongue for Alfred.

This Town is Big Enough... - Page 7 Empty Re: This Town is Big Enough...

Post by Sheriff Jones Thu Sep 01, 2011 5:31 pm

Alfred had lay his young, unbroken heart out for Arthur to either cherish or shatter. It was a risky move to make, especially when considering how long the two had actually known one another, but despite everything, he felt like all was right with the world. Before, he had been stuck on a constantly spinning reality, trying to make sense of the nonsensical moods and actions of the people around him. Then, Arthur came and brought everything into focus. Even if he did not return or accept his love, Alfred had a kind of undying joy in knowing that he had been allowed to experience it. It felt selfish to be desiring more than what he already had. And yet, Alfred realized as he stared down at those shining emeralds, there was something else he wanted to experience. To be loved. And not just loved by anyone in particular, but by Arthur.

He stayed silent as Arthur spoke, his heart beating fast within his chest. He couldn't love him back - that would be too perfect. But what if he did? What would he say then? What would they do then? How do you love another person? What duties are you expected to fulfill? A million questions ran through the young man's head, but he was far too nervous to make sense of any particular one. All he could focus on right now were Arthur's eyes and the beautiful words that were leaving his full lips. Instantly, the world changed. He thought he couldn't have been happier than he had been moments ago when he realized he was in love, but hearing that Arthur returned his feelings brought new light to his life. "Really?" He asked, eyes shining brightly under the glow of the moon and stars. His head felt light and his body warm with emotions he didn't care to identify. Arthur loved him and he loved Arthur. How could anything be more perfect? Alfred smiled out of sheer joy and leaned down to bring his love into another passionate kiss. They had just confessed their love under the night sky with only the stars as witnesses.

"L'amour est magnifique, non?"

Alfred's pulled back away from Arthur's form so abruptly, he ended up sprawled out on the dirt. Shit! Francis and Matthew had been right there! Why hadn't he realized that?! Oh yeah, he had gotten distracted by Arthur's eyes and forgotten about everything else! He slowly sat up and dared to glance back at the other two, as if praying that they had only just noticed what him and Arthur had been up to. That had been far too much to hope for. Francis had both arms around Matthew, a firm hand slapped over his mouth to keep him from speaking as he stared blatantly at the other couple. Matthew was quite red in the face and was desperately trying to get the crazy Frenchman to release him. Francis finally did (since he had blown their cover anyway with his need to add a touch of French to the romantic atmosphere) before happily flouncing over to Arthur's side. "I am jealous mon cher, even with those eyebrows of yours, you managed to find l'amour before myself!" He sighed dramatically, turning his eyes towards the moon. "It is too bad though. I was hoping to snag Monsieur Jones for a three way with Mattieu - I do love twins." Both Matthew and Alfred went beet red at that, but instead of calling the perverted man out, the doctor went up to his brother and offered an apologetic smile. Alfred accepted with one of his own, glad to have his brother's support. The two hugged quickly as a promise to talk about it in length at a later date, before Matthew went up to drag the Frenchman away. Alfred crouched down beside Arthur once more, slowly weaving his arms around him to help him up. "So... we're in love," He said, face going red, "Where do we go from here?"

This Town is Big Enough... - Page 7 Empty Re: This Town is Big Enough...

Post by Crocky Kirkland Fri Sep 02, 2011 11:10 am

"Yes, real-" Arthur started to say before he was cut off by a very passionate kiss from Alfred. His words and laughter lost in it. Arthur would admit he had had a couple of surprise kisses sprang up on him, but this one felt right almost instantly. There was no adjusting, and Arthur found himself relaxing into it more quickly, his hand coming up to draw Alfred closer. However Francis spoke and the sheriff was off him like he burned him.

He quickly flicked Francis off and shooting him a glare. Honestly if anything good seemed to be happening to Arthur the Frenchman seemed to waltz in on it and blabber about with his annoying French voice. He gave Matthew an apologetic look however. Somehow he wiggled free of Matthew, or something Arthur wasn't exactly sure what was going on. However the moment he was free, Francis was by his side in an instant. Speaking in his annoying French way. Arthur found his fingers searching for something to throw at the man. He couldn't find one and merely grabbed dirt to fling in the man's face the instant the world "three-way" and "twins" came out of his mouth. Francis sputtered about and demanding to way such violence had come to be in his presents.

Eventually Matthew dragged him away, further than they had been before. Alfred helped him sit up before talking again. "Uh..." Arthur said looking at Alfred. He didn't know where to go relationship by. He never fancied anyone like he was Alfred. There had never been a true established relationship that lead to happy feelings and an ease. "I don't know, I've never been in this type of..." He paused. Type of what? Situation? Relationship? "This type of..." he repeated, still searching for something that would fit. He gave up. "I don't even know what to call it."

He felt bad not being able to tell Alfred where they should go. He honestly didn't want to screw things up like he had a feeling his accidentally might do with out meaning to. His eyes looked down at the dirt. Father's business failed under my watch. I even knew the basics of running a business and it failed. Here he knew next to nothing, and he feared messing it up worse than ever.

Arthur's hesitancy about what to call their newly found relationship made him feel a bit better about the situation. At least he wasn't the only one who was loss on how to act. They could be learn together how to be... what ever it was they were. What were they? Lovers? Now, that implied that they had a... well, physical relationship (Alfred blushed at the idea). Perhaps they were partners? Well they were partners in work already, it didn't seem right to refer to them as partners for their personal relationship. Oh well, they would find the correct term one day. Right now it was hardly important considering the circumstances. They were in love, and that was all that matters. "For now... I guess we can just go with the whole being love thing," Alfred said, carefully lifting the Brit up in his arms. As gently as he possibly could, he set the smaller man up on the horse before taking his place behind him. This time, he didn't wait for the momentum to jerk Arthur against him, instead doing the job himself before lightly kicking the horse into motion. Alfred pressed his lips against the shell of Arthur's ear, murmuring softly "We need to go and lay out the stars again. You looked so beautiful." He smiled and planted a light kiss against his neck before focusing on the path back home.

They traveled the rest of the night, finally reaching the town they had left Liberty and Victoria in by the time the morning sun was rising above the horizon. Alfred was absolutely exhausted. Once they entered the town, he made beeline for the inn they had stayed at previously. All he wanted right now was a warm bed to sleep in. Hopefully the women who had put them up previously would remember them and allow them to stay for free. He stumbled off the horse and once again lifted Arthur up into his arms. Instead of setting him down, the young American walked into the building, simply carrying the injured blond. The same women from last time was working at the front, looking over papers at a small desk. Alfred cleared his throat to get her attention and was just about to explain the situation when the women gasped. He stepped back, startled, but the women was staring at the pair with a strange sort of glint in her eyes, a hand pressed against her nose. "Um... may we..." She cut him off, instantly grabbing her ring of keys from the desk. "A room. Yes of course, right this way please." She waltzed up the stairs, leaving the confused American to stumble after her.

She set them up in a room similar to the one before - comfortable, small, save for one large bed in the middle of the room. Alfred offered a quick thanks as the women slowly closed the door behind her. What a strange lady. Nice though, and he couldn't help but appreciate the free room. "Mm..." He placed Arthur carefully on the bed before stripping out of his boots and shirt. Once that was taken care of, he dropped onto the bed and let out a loud groan of pleasure. "We'll go back to my home tomorrow..." He yawned, slipping underneath the covers, "Once we get Victoria and Liberty... But for now, we should sleep. If only for a little bit..." Too late if Arthur wanted any differently, because Alfred's eyes had already drifted closed. In his last moments of consciousness, he slipped his arms around Arthur's waist and pulled him close, enjoying the warm heat against his chest. "Love you..." He murmured softly, before quickly drifting off into slumber.

This Town is Big Enough... - Page 7 Empty Re: This Town is Big Enough...

The moment Arthur felt Alfred's lips brush long his ear, he shivered slightly as feel as felt a blush come to his cheeks. He glanced over at Matthew and Francis who much to his luck weren't looking. Arthur eased himself along Alfred more. "Yes, we should," Arthur said not sure how to reply to the complement, he merely have a small thanks. It was going to be another long ride, but it would surely be less awkward. Arthur figured it would be easier now. They had kissed and declared loving each other, surely that only put them a few steps away from something physical. Or he thought that, and hopefully he wasn't wrong and screwed up whatever him and Alfred where currently in.

The moment the entered town, Arthur knew where they were and hoped there wouldn't be a delay. It was early morning and not many people were actually up and moving around town. Arthur hoped the other sheriff was else where, for everyone's sake, or he hoped he hadn't managed to get word out about how Alfred shot him (with very good reason, even if it didn't look like it, Arthur knew). Alfred however made his way to the inn, and Arthur didn't care too much. He was tired as well, the night had been long it it was nice to rest up.

The woman from before gave them a room, with a shine in her eye, Arthur knew what she was thinking almost instantly. Arthur hoped Francis and Matthew could have the same luck getting a room as easily as they did. The bed felt lovely beneath him and he got what he could off in no time, giggling a bit from his exhaustion and Alfred flopping on the bed. "It's really tonight, love," Arthur said with a grin as he listen to Alfred noticing he was falling asleep. just before Alfred seemed to drift off he pulled Arthur close, causing the other to grin. "Love you too," Arthur said cuddling up to the American and falling asleep.

It was a brilliant sky above Arthur, and he couldn't help but grin at it. His breath came out as white puffs, but he wasn't cold, someone was holding him close in a cocoon of a blanket and their breath was hotly on his ear. He could feel he was sweat as well, moments as to why flashing in his head. Hands pushing him down, clothes being discarded, heated kisses, and a wonderful rhythm that had had him moaning.

He closed his eyes, recalling the memories and grinning to himself. He had never felt this completed before. His green eyes opened and he turned to find Alfred next to him staring lovingly at him. There were no words, but there wasn't on needed and another round began.

This Town is Big Enough... - Page 7 Empty Re: This Town is Big Enough...

Post by Sheriff Jones Sat Sep 03, 2011 9:09 am

All around him was darkness. Alfred felt cold hands snaking up the sides of his body, keeping him from running away as fast as he possibly could. A tongue slipped passed his lips, gagging him as it explored his warm cavern. Alfred squeezed his eyes shut, trying to hide from the oppressing darkness. It made no difference though. He could still feel the hands moving slowly over his body and the tongue ravaging his mouth without restraint. He wanted out of the darkness, out of this nightmare where everything felt so wrong. He wanted to be back in his sanctuary under the stars with the man he loved - with Arthur.

Immediately the darkness began fading away and the hands slunk back like shadows. Warmth and light began to surround him, pulling him away from the coldness he had been subjected to previously. A familiar voice spoke comforting words to him, promising his safety. Alfred smiled and allowed his eyes to open once more. Twin pools of green stared up at him and instantly, his heart filled with warmth. Arthur smiled up at him and pulled him down into a gentle kiss. All the coldness left on his body faded away thanks to his expert touches and well placed kisses. Soon the light kisses had changed from chaste and comforting to heavy and passionate. Before Alfred realized what was happening, they were on the ground, stripped of their clothing and kissing like their was no tomorrow. As they reached their peak together, the stars shot down from the sky, encasing them forever in their ethereal glow. Alfred smiled lovingly at the man in his arms as they tried to regain their breath. All around them, stars danced and planets sang. He vaguely recalled himself laughing before leaning in to steal another kiss...

* * *

Alfred awoke to the sound of a door closing. He blinked in confusion and looked around the small room, as if trying to make sense of where he was. A small lantern had been lit in the corner of the room (ah, so that's why somebody had come in), but other than that, the room was dark. The young sheriff groaned a bit and tilted his head back against his pillow. How long had he been asleep for? From the looks of it, night had fallen sometime ago. Damn, he had wanted to get moving sooner than this, but obviously they had needed the sleep. Alfred moved to get up, but quickly found he could not. During his nap, he had somehow managed to pull Arthur completely on top of him so that the sleeping man's head was resting against his broad chest. His face went red. Not that he minded that Arthur was sleeping on top of him (no, it was endearingly cute to have him cuddled up against him), but once again, his body had been left to deal with the effects of his dreams. Shit! He swore in his mind, trying not to move his hips it all, least they brush up against Arthur's. He needed to move Arthur off of him and fast - before the other man woke up and discovered the position they were in. As gently as he possibly could, Alfred began trying to untangle the Brit's limbs from his body (biting back groans every time something brushed against his erection). Oh god, He thought to himself, fighting back the intense blush from staining his cheeks, Is every morning going to be like this?!

Movement below Arthur caused him to stir a bit. He became slightly aware of a problem of his own, not something he wasn't use to from time to time. He had dreams before with faceless, perfect people taking (or being taken) by him in ways that would probably make Francis blush. However this was the first time there was a face and it had probably made everything ten times worse (in a very fantastic way in the dream, not so much reality). He groaned slightly, rolling his hips against what moving about below him, creating pleasurable friction.

Wait. Moving below him. His green eyes snapped open and his head shot up from a very warm pillow. He found Alfred's red face. Arthur could feel his ears going red and spreading to his face. He found he was on top of Alfred, how they managed to do that rather surprised Arthur. Alfred was below him and he just rolled his hips to ease an erection form a dream. It wasn't like he could just roll of the American, surely the action would cause irritation to his wound or worse cause some bleeding he was sure he didn't need.

He dropped his forehead on the American's chest, there was no doubt in his mind that the American was now very aware of what kind of situation he was in. Bloody hell, I've gone and ruined it. He thought, shifting his leg just a bit, feeling someone as well. He blushed redder if it was possible. At least they were in the same boat, though Arthur wasn't sure if it was left over form a dream or the fact that he had cuddled up with him. He groaned, wishing he didn't have to face the day just yet.

Alfred froze when Arthur rolled his hips against his own. A shock wave of pleasure went through his body and he had to fight back the urge to moan in pleasure. God why had he done that? The sheriff stared down at the half conscious figure, his cheeks stained red from his embarrassment (and arousal). At least they were both suffering from the same problem, although Alfred doubted the Englishman had a vivid imagination to blame. The young sheriff stayed still and quiet, even as Arthur dropped his head back down against his chest to shield his own embarrassed face. An awkward silence fell over them both, making the already difficult situation unbearable. Alfred bit his lip and turned his attention down to the blushing man in his arms. What could he possibly say to make this situation okay? Should he help Arthur off of him and act like nothing happened? Or fall back on humor to defuse the awkwardness of the situation? He had no clue, but he had to act fast otherwise they may never recover from the embarrassment.

"H-here," Alfred said, face still bright red. "Sorry... I didn't mean to pull you on top of me. Let me just..." He managed to maneuver Arthur's body off of him, carefully setting him on the space beside him without irritating his wound. There, at least this way it wouldn't be so obvious that he had been thinking less than pure thoughts about his injured comrade. Now all there was left to do was to rid himself of this thing. Usually he could will it away by occupying his mind with stupid things, but the feel of Arthur's need pressed against his own made it impossible for him to think of anything else. That left only one alternative. Alfred got out of bed and made his way towards the door, stopping just before he opened it. "Um so... I'm going to be right back. I just need to..." He shifted awkwardly, trying to hide the obvious tent in his pants from the man still laying in bed. "Take care of something. I'll be right back."

He yanked on the door-handle, intending to get as far away from Arthur as humanly possible, but the door remained closed. Alfred frowned and turned the handle the other way, but the result was still the same. The color slowly began to drain away when he realized what had happening. The door was locked from the outside, meaning they were stuck in there. Together. No way out. Just the two of them. No. Alfred lay his head against the wooden door in dismay, trying to formulate his thoughts. Okay, he could do this, he just needed to breath and act like everything was fine. He could handle this no problem. "It looks like somebody locked us in," He said nervously, turning back to face Arthur. "Uh so... I guess I'll just sit over here." With that, he plopped down on the hardwood floor, ignoring the pain of his (still hardened) need pressing uncomfortably against his jeans. Oh lord, why was this happening?

The young sheriff seemed to be handling the situation better than he was, or he seemed to be. "Uh...It's fine." Arthur said, not once lifting his head to look at the American. He didn't mind waking up like that, he could get use to it, it was just the fact that his dream was not making things so easy. "Thanks," Arthur said rolling his face into the pillow.

Feeling Alfred get of the bed, Arthur cursed in his head. He hated how everything were so awkward. He heard Alfred speak and he figured it was a good thing he was leaving, Arthur could deal with his problem. Then he heard the door rattling and he turned to the sound eyes wide. Alfred's body language told him they were locked in he didn't need the American's words to confirm it. However he had, and Arthur groaned. There were other ways to deal with his problem but he had a feeling it wasn't going to go away because he willed it.

He fell beck on the bed. This was not getting any better at all. He started up at the ceiling. He feared insisting Alfred to back to the bed. There seemed to be enough of an uncomfortable air.

Alfred let the silence stretch on for about a minute in a half before it came unbearable. He hated quiet, no matter what the circumstances, but when paired with this kind of tension, it drove him insane. It was clear what they both needed, and since it looked like they weren't getting out of this room any time soon, they might as well just get it over with. Besides, they were in love, so it shouldn't be too awkward, right? "Arthur, We could just..." God, would it be okay for them to do this? He had never been in this kind of situation before, he wasn't sure what the proper way to behave was. But he needed to do something or he would burst. "Just take care of it here. I mean..." Alfred looked down at the ground, trying to fight back the urge to back down. They needed this, it would be okay. "I need to do something..." He said finally, before letting the silence take over again.

He waited for a moment before moving to unbutton his jeans. Casting Arthur a nervous look, he slipped a hand inside his pants and slowly began to stroke himself. The effect was immediate. Waves of pleasure rushed through his veins, making him cry out. Oh god he had needed this. Alfred arched back against the wooden door and reached a hand up to lightly tease his stubborn cowlick. His body shook violently at all the sensations coursing through him. If only Arthur were the one causing them, it would be all the better. No, he forced himself not to think about it. It was bad enough he was doing this in the same room as him, no need to pull him into his thoughts as well. But it was already too late, Arthur's presence invade his mind until he was imagining much worse actions then what he was already doing. "God." He groaned, quickly getting closer and closer to completion. "Arthur!" He cried out, arching into his hand as he came.

Arthur perked up when the silence was broken, onto come in the from of a question that caused the Briton to blush. He thought the America was going to come back over to the bed, however that would be too prefect. The moment Alfred started moaning Arthur found himself easing himself up a bit. The sight he saw was not helping with his problem.

His hand however made quick work of his pants, his hand wiggling in. A moan left his lips as he started stroking lightly. The sight of Alfred staying his mind and his moans in the air. Arthur felt his body arch, and shift with pleasure. "Mm...Alfred," He moaned out, trying to, no wishing, Alfred was helping him. His toes curled at the idea, and he felt himself growing close. He blushed as he shamelessly moaned. "Alfred!" The name left his lips as he came. Panting up at the ceiling.

The room was quiet save for the sound of the two of them panting. Alfred rested heavily against the door, a thin sheen of sweat covering his body. He could hear Arthur breathing heavily on the bed, laying too far away to suit the American's tastes. Slowly the affects of his orgasm faded away, leaving him feeling a bit drained. Strangely, he lacked the satisfaction that usually accompanied preforming an act of that nature. But than again, it was rare that the object of his desires was laying a mere three feet away, also pleasuring himself in sinful ways. Alfred stood up and awkwardly began to adjust his clothing. What could he say now? It was obvious what the two of them had just done, and who's names they had screamed in a fit of passion. Alfred blushed at the memory - Arthur had been thinking of him. Perhaps his fantasy wasn't so farfetched after all.

Once again, Alfred did not let the silence go on for long. He wasn't one to go long periods of time without some form of communication, no matter what had just occurred prior. That just wasn't the way he functioned. "So... should we... I guess we should go find Mattie and that creepy Frenchie... and then get home," He blushed once more when he realized what he had just implied, "I mean, back to my home. But it could be your home as well, if you wanted and ah... I'll just go find them." Alfred turned back to the door and opened it with ease. Wait. He tilted his head in confusion, closed the door again, waited a second before turning the knob. It opened with ease. Well that was just strange, he was sure that it was locked before. Perhaps the door was just faulty? Alfred shook it off and went out the door, intending to find his brother. Instead of Mattie, he found the pretty brunette innkeeper with a handkerchief pressed tightly against her nose, staring at him with mischievous eyes. Oh lord, she had heard, hadn't she? But why did she look so... happy?

Alfred stepped forward cautiously (crazy people had a tendency to lash out whenever approached too quickly). "Excuse me, ma'am? Um... I was wondering if you could show me which room my brother and his..." He paused for a moment, unsure of what to call Francis, "Friend are staying?" The woman just nodded and motioned for him to follow her. He did so, although he was cautious about getting too close to her when she had that weird glint in her eye. Matthew was just leaving the room to find him when the approached. He gave him a shy smile and pulled his brother into a sudden hug, surprising the sheriff immensely. "What is it Mattie?" He asked, holding his brother close. The quieter twin smiled and placed a soft kiss against his brother's forehead before stepping away. "I have to go Alfred. I have been asked to take on another job." Alfred blinked in confusion, not quite understanding what he was saying. "Wait, you're not coming with me? But I thought that you and I..." Matthew shook his head, whispering something about obligations but Alfred ignored him, instead pulling him into another hug.

They held each other for a long time, finally parting when the innkeepers breathing had caught their attention. The twins stared at the creepy women in confusion (twinged with fear) until she made her leave before turning to each other again. Matthew was dressed and had his bag in hand already, signalling that he had little time for goodbyes. Alfred's heart ached, but the two had promised to see each other again very soon. Besides, now that they had found each other, there was no excuse not to keep in contact. The two parted ways with a final hug and promises to meet up again soon. Alfred watched from the window as Matthew headed for the trains, trying to fight the tears from building up behind his eyes. It had been hard to watch him walk away, but at least he had the comfort of knowing it was not forever. He gave himself a few minutes to recover before slowly heading back to Arthur's and his shared room. It looked like they would have to continue to journey alone.

The silence wasn't so awkward, maybe because it was fill with their panting and the memory of their name on the other's lips. Arthur still wished Alfred had come over and in a way they could have assisted the other, it would have been ten times better then just his hand. However wishing and fantasizing were not going to help get read of the problem he had just gotten rid off. He grinned at Alfred's rambling as he lazily buttoned his pants, because in all honesty it sounded nice. Home. It had been England, or he felt it had been England, for a long time, but now it was fading away as home and he was just sort of left with nothing. Alfred left, after fiddling with the door, opening it twice with ease.

Arthur rolled his eyes, he was going to have to find out who locked them in later. He carefully eased himself out of bed, gripping his left side when he accidentally moved the wrong way for a split second. His wound was a lot better, more soar now, than anything else. He wasn't an expert but he figured the stitches could come about at the end of the week, or whatever day that would fall on when he figured out what day it was. At least Alfred's little town has a doctor who could probably help if anything goes wrong. Arthur though as he walked to the window of their room.

He eased the curtain's open and found it was dark out, and the town was started to shift to it's night life, but he couldn't tell how close it was to ending. His eyes shifted to the sky, the moon didn't seem to high up, which probably but sun set around a few hours ago. He grinned, finally they were going to go back to Alfred's town and hopefully things would settle down. Though Arthur was sure the sheriff of this town was send some message to someone about what Alfred did. With Arthur there, it wasn't going to help the American's case much. However there were a lot of buts to the statement. Arthur was shot, and the two had similar stories to what happened, as well nothing had been taken from the train, at least not by them.

Arthur turned when he heard the door opening and Alfred walk in. "Is everything ready to go?" He asked, walking back to the bed to get ready for the trip. He couldn't wait to see Victoria again, much less had time to rest, this trip had been too much too fast.

Alfred nodded a bit at Arthur's question, going about the room to collect what was left of his possessions. His heart still burned at the thought of his brother leaving once more, but he tried to focus on the positive. He was heading home again after such a long, tiring journey, he would soon be reunited with his lovely Lady Liberty, and he had Arthur. The young sheriff smiled a bit, working his other boot on before standing up. "It's just going to be the two of us. Mattie has a job to take in another town and Francis..." Actually, he hadn't a clue where Francis was. It didn't look like he had been in the room Mattie had occupied for the night, so Alfred could only assume he had run off already. Oh well, he was a criminal after all, could he expect any differently? "I guess he's gone too." He stood up and made his way over to Arthur, slipping an arm around his shoulder to help support him while he walked. Although he was up and moving on his own, Alfred was still nervous about him ripping the stitches and bleeding out again so he chose to keep a tight hold on him. "Shall we?"

Together they left the inn (Alfred was glad to get out of the creepy women's line of sight - she had been staring at them with a bit too much interest as they left). Outside the town was in full swing, enjoying the nightlife with songs and booze. The familiarity of it all made Alfred smile, but he choose not to linger too long. He didn't know if the sheriff had made it back to town yet, or if he had let it slip who was the one to shoot him, but he didn't want to run into anymore trouble. Especially when he was so close to home. They moved slowly (as not to agitate Arthur's side), but made it to the stable in good time. Inside, Alfred was surprised to find Liberty resting her head against Victoria's neck in a surprisingly intimate fashion for such a sigh creature. "Well, would you look at that?" He smiled and released Arthur, moving to gently stroke the mare's nose. She blinked a bit and moved away in irritation, causing the sheriff to pout. "I'm sorry we took so long Liberty! I never would have left you alone if I had known it would have turned out like this!" The two went back and forth for a while until finally the sweet mare consented and allowed her master to give her a few long overdue pets. "I missed you too," He whispered, giving her nose a soft kiss.

Alfred began saddling her up for the trip, glad to see that the two had been well taken care of in their absence. When he was finished, he turned to Arthur and looked him over. "Are you going to be able to ride on your own? I could hold you if you need me to." His cheeks went red and he quickly looked away. Did that sound too needy? Did he make it seem like he wanted him to say he was still injured so he could hold him a bit longer? Why did he always sound so pathetic all the time? "But if you're uncomfortable with that, I understand of course." Alfred turned back to Liberty to give her one last check over, his cheeks flushed a pretty pink color. It seemed that no matter what happened, whenever Arthur was involved, he would end up saying something completely stupid and end up embarrassing himself. Would he ever learn to keep his mouth shut or just act normal for a change? Probably not, he realized hopelessly, hiding behind Liberty for comfort.

Arthur nodded, it was now just going to be them alone. It was a nice change, he though. He had figured Matthew would depart after sometime, either when he felt Arthur or someone else could manage the wound well enough, or when he knew he could no longer delay. He was a doctor and most likely a good one to be traveling about the west. Francis was probably off somewhere trying to get women or whatever he could with his French accent and well French everything really. Arthur didn't think too much of it as he managed to slip his shoes on and wiggling on his shirt all on his own. He was healing well he figured if he could do that by himself. Still he was happy for Alfred support, because Arthur didn't trust himself completely. Not yet at least, maybe when he got the stitches out and a doctor gave him the all clear.

They worked their way out of the inn with little problem. The woman who was working the desk seem to have a look to her eye that told Arthur she was the one who locked the door. He gave a small unnoticed nod to her in thanks, it had made the awkward morning just a little bit easier to deal with. They walked about easily in the crowds of people in the night life of the town. No one seemed to take much noticed of them, if anything they could be two drunken men (who were drinking buddies) walking along, obviously one being more drunk than the other. That or Arthur's bloody shirt gave them an idea that he was injured and not exactly great at getting around, which would make them traveling buddies or something. Either way no one seemed to overly care about them and their walking around.

When they made it to the stable, Arthur couldn't help but grin at the sight of the two horses. He made his way over to Victoria who looked well cared for, he wondered if she had been a problem to the poor stable boys. She wasn't a fan of people, and Arthur wondering if she figured Arthur would come back eventually and put up with everyone, or if she was just a pain in the arse. He stroked her nose lightly, she nuzzling into his hand and pushing it up with her head. Arthur smiled. He had missed her more than she thought. She nibbled at his shirt a bit, obviously smelling the previous owner on it, but more of him now that had warn it for three days or so.

Alfred saddled up Liberty, before turning to Arthur. The Briton chuckled at the man's rambling. They probably should ride out separately, the town was busy with people. However Arthur knew Victoria would rush into a gallop leaving a town usually meant such an action and she probably hadn't gotten much movement. He thought for a second, before answering. "We sure probably ride out separately, but Victoria's going to want to gallop all the way back," he glanced at her a bit grimly, it wasn't her fault but his. "At some point I might need your...support." He said blushing slightly. He didn't trust himself completely enough to be on a horse. "I think it would be best if we rode in and out separately, but I don't think riding alone the whole way would be a good idea." Arthur said bring his hand to fiddle with some of the hairs in Victoria's mane.

This Town is Big Enough... - Page 7 Empty Re: This Town is Big Enough...

Alfred was glad that Arthur didn't take offense to his suggestion. In fact, he seemed to honestly consider the idea before coming up with a plan to ride out separately and when he needed it, use Alfred as support during the bulk of the ride. He flushed at the realization that they would (once again) be in close contact for the majority of the journey, although he tried not to look too happy about it. "That's a good plan. We don't want to strain your injury anymore than we have to," He said, leading Liberty out of her stall. Once he had helped Arthur onto Victoria's back (he was still nervous about him ripping his stitches, it wasn't just an excuse to hold him!), Alfred hopped onto Liberty's back and lead the way out of the stable. Just like when they had been walking through town, nobody paid them any mind as they went down the dusty street, much too busy with their own lives and problems. Oh well, better to be ignored than constantly have to worry about running into trouble wherever they went. Still, Alfred was relieved when they lost sight of the town.

Instantly his body relaxed. This desert was a familiar sight to him, having traveled around here often since he had been stationed. After being thrown into so many unfamiliar situations, it felt good to be back in a place he recognized. "Are you still holding up alright Arthur? You can ride with me if you want," He offered, trying not to make it seem like he cared either way. But really, was it so bad to want to hold the man he had fallen in love with in his arms? Besides it wasn't like they hadn't kissed or anything before. Wait, he had forgotten to kiss Arthur when they woke up. He had been so focused on his pressing... um well need, he had totally forgotten everything else! Alfred directed Liberty closer to Victoria and leaned in, catching Arthur's lips in a quick kiss. He could taste black tea, mint, and something more that he could not identify on his lips. Alfred leaned in closer, intent on getting more of that wonderful taste when Liberty jerked to the left. Immediately his hold slipped on the reigns, causing him to fall spectacularly to the side and off the horse. He landed in a surprised heap on the dusty ground. "Liberty!" He groaned, rubbing his sore backside. The animal just trotted playfully around him before offering a comforting nuzzle against his corn silk hair. Alfred sighed and stood up, wincing a bit. "Maybe you shouldn't ride with me. Apparently I'm a disaster waiting to happen," He said, fighting back to embarrassed blush from once again, staining his cheeks.

Arthur was happy no one gave them any mind when they felt the stables. Victoria happily trotted after Liberty, she seemed content enough the speed and Arthur prayed she suddenly didn't take off. However as the town faded into the background and she didn't suddenly take off Arthur considered himself lucky. He glanced over at Alfred who seemed to relax the further away the town. Arthur turned up to look at the stars, it was somewhat nice not having other people hanging around as well.

He turned at the sound of Alfred's voice, thinking about how he should answer his question. He was fine, but he missed the warmth Alfred's chest proved on his back, and he had felt more secure with someone backing him in the current state he was in that just by himself. The wound was too new and fresh for him to feel he could do everything completely on his own. He was about to answer Alfred when the man was suddenly beside him, leaning forward and taking his lips. Arthur leaned in a bit as well, almost toppling over as well when Liberty pulled away, however Victoria compromised quickly, allowing him to stay upright. He bit back a chuckle at the playfulness of Liberty and Alfred's form on the ground.

"I think Liberty is jealous," Arthur said as he pulled the reins sharply to a side, causing Victoria to stop and turn. "I honestly still think it's for the best."
