Just Best Friends? (Hero + Momo) [Might be R18 later on] Empty Just Best Friends? (Hero + Momo) [Might be R18 later on]

Alfred hummed as he listened to his mp3 player and walked down the sidewalk. He stopped though when he saw the familar blond head not to far infront of him. Smiling to himself, he picked up his speed until he was right behind the other. "Artie!" He shouted out happily and wrapped his arm around him and brung him close.

Arthur was Alfred's best friend. They had been friends ever since they were little. Alfred could still remember when they had first met when Arthur moved into the house just a few blocks down from his. At the time, there was really no other children in Alfred's neighberhood besides him and his brother Matthew, so Alfred jumped at the chance to meet the new boy. At the time he never thought that they would have stayed close friends for as long as they did... but here they are.

"So you ready for that History test we have today?" Alfred asked as he continued to walk with Arthur close to him. "I think I'm going to bomb it! I'm totally going to forget everything when I get into the class! And then dad will chew my ass out..." Alfred sighed. His father was always telling him to be the best he could be, maybe in a more harsh way then he should. But Alfred's dad had big hopes for Alfred. He wanted him to be popular and liked like he was in highschool. He expexted Alfred to get amazing grades, join a sport, and be good at it, and have the wonderful girlfriend to show off as well.

But Alfred wasn't really all his dad wanted him to be shaped up to be. Sure his grades were okay, but not the best. Sure he liked playing sports but sometimes he was clumsy, and he wasn't the star player. And he really wasn't intrested in girls. But he was just waiting for the right one was all! Well that's what he told his dad anyway...

Arthur felt tension release as a familiar and strong arm wrapped around him. He smiled lightly, before wiping the happy emotion from his face in favor of a slight frown.

"It's not history, for the fifteenth bleeding time. It's comparative government. Of course you don't know the answers, we're on countries other than the US at the moment, what the hell would you know that. Everything you know has to do with the United States." He smiled, leaning into the warm body slightly.

He wanted Alfred. It was pure and simple, he always had. But Alfred's father was beyond homophobic, as was Arthur's mother. They had gotten so close, only to be foiled by their parents expectations and fears. Children didn't discriminate without outside forces to change them. All of their friends, they giggled and accused them of being gay. But none of them knew how close they had been. How close to being boyfriends, to being in love.

"Alfred, do you ever... do you ever wish our parents were like Francis's? Absent and not caring?" He didn't specify why. They both knew. They both understood. Alfred's mother was the sweetest thing alive, and while she has been slightly uncomfortable with the thought of a gay son, she hadn't been so against it as her husband. Arthur's dad was the only person Arthur would speak to about things such as sexuality and love. His father didn't care enough to discriminate, but he cared about Arthur. There were a few times Arthur's father had talked to Alfred, but those two hadn't gotten to the heart of things. Just small talk.

"Uh. So dad was talking about having a 'mans' night. You, me, him. Peter might stick around for a little, but he'd have to go to bed soon enough. Sound interesting enough? I figure an escape from your house would be nice. Mum is at a retreat this weekend, something for the church, so no worrying about her. And I... you know, we're barely allowed to be alone anymore, so it'd be nice. Dad says he has no problem letting us stay up later than him, as long as we don't do anything 'stupid'."

"History, comparative government, what's the difference?" Alfred gave a snort and then a laugh. "And hey, it's not my fault that the great Us of A is so awesome to learn about"

Alfred smiled when Arthur leaned into his arm. He loved Arthur. Loved him more then a friend, more then a best friend... But if his dad ever found out, well there would be more then hell to pay...

He blinked when he heard Arthur's question. He was quite for a moment before he took a breath and let out a long sigh. "Sometimes... yeah." He admitted. "I mean, especially dad. If he would just go away for awhile and not worry about me that would be great. Don't get me wrong, I love him and everything but, but you know what I mean." Alfred finished lamely.

"And a boy's night huh?" Alfred raised and eyebrow with interest. "Sounds like fun! Yeah I could use a break from dad. You know how he is. And it's an oppurtunity to spend more time with you, so there is no way I'm going to pass it up! Count me in!" Alfred laughed and hugged Arthur tighter with his one arm wrapped around him. "And I would never do anything stupid, dumb sure, but stupid nah." He joked playfully.
