Alfred hoped that Gilbert and Arthur were starting to get along again. He never really interfered this time around considering that he wanted Arthur to have time with his friends and...well it seemed to be doing well for the balance in their lives.

His eyes brightened up at the mention of going to walk out on the beach or at least along and he quickly started to drink up his soup.

As he got to the last part of it, he took the bowl and gulped down the rest.

"Done!"

Arthur pulled out some money from his wallet, leaving it on the table to cover the bill before promptly turning to leave. He didn’t want to hang around for too long, the backs of his legs beginning to stick to the chair he’d been sat in.

“Which direction?” he asked, pursing his lips.

Alfred let out a small whine when Arthur placed down his money and he sighed, standing up. He wanted to pay for it! He wanted to be the romantic one this vacation.

Instead he gave a hesitant smile, standing up as well.

"Let's go towards that building over there," He murmured, pointing away from the hotel. "As long as we follow along it, I'm sure we won't get lost."

It wasn't as if this place was huge in the first place.

Arthur paused for a few moments upon Alfred’s words, having flashbacks of the ‘shortcut’ that Alfred took on the way back to New York. He made a face.

“Are you sure what we won’t get lost? I don’t want to end up in the slave trade, thank you, Alfred.” He was quiet for a few moments. “No, no… I should trust you. Come along.” He began to lead the way, glancing back at Alfred.

Alfred just barked out a laugh at that, rolling his eyes.

"What? You don't trust my navigation skills? I always get us to the right places right on time, even a few minutes earlier in a huge place like New York City! My navigation senses are pretty much spot on," He grinned over at the other, a bit teasing.

Though he really didn't find anything wrong about his navigation skills...nor his driving.

Not like they were going to be driving over here.

He soon grabbed Arthur's hand, following him.

Arthur chose not to say anything.

He stopped them again before they went on to the beach so that he could take off his shoes. He wasn’t going to ruin them with sand and sea salt. He then led them on to the beach, holding Alfred’s hand loosely in his own. The sand felt hot beneath his feet, though not unbearably so. He felt strangely at peace as he walked down the beach, sensing that Alfred would want to be close to the sea. He led them to the water’s edge, switching sides with Alfred so that the other could enjoy the water and not himself. He didn’t really want to get his feet wet.

Alfred just relaxed and he also took off his shoes, instead carrying them with his free hand. It just felt nice being with Arthur like this, walking along the beach and the water going between his toes. He smiled over at the other, stopping for a bit as he enjoyed the sensation. Instead he dropped his shoes onto the sand before moving around so he could look at the other.

Running a hand through Arthur's hair lightly, he smiled over at him.

"I love you so much, you know," He murmured softly, pressing a kiss to the corner of his lips.

Arthur noted that Alfred put down his shoes and did the same, under the impression that Alfred wanted to go paddling in the sea or something but then Alfred turned to face him properly.

Arthur flushed a little, hoping that the people around them wouldn’t be too perturbed by their affectionate actions. He smiled slightly at the other.

“I know. I love you, too, you sentimental sod,” he chuckled quietly.

Alfred smiled even more at that, cheeks a bit flushed and he soon grabbed both of Arthur's hands lightly.

"Well...you know...I want many more moments to come so we could look back in the future and remember them fondly. Both be sentimental fools, you know?" His cheeks were flushing more and he looked a bit nervous.

"And well...there has been something I've been meaning to ask you for a while now because you mean the world to me..." He soon reached behind for his pocket but froze when he heard a yell from near them.

"Get a room you fags!"

Alfred frowned and glanced over, noticing an tourist looking over at them.

His expression dimmed.

Post by Mr. Kirkland Sun Oct 21, 2012 4:46 am

Arthur’s breath caught in his throat as Alfred spoke to him. He wasn’t really sure that he knew where this was going. It wouldn’t be the first time that Alfred buttered him up before asking a stupid question like ‘can we have hot fudge sundaes for dinner?’ or ‘where’s the condoms?’.

At the shout from the tourist, Arthur went pale. And then a fiery shade of red as he pulled away from Alfred and began to storm over to the man that had shouted at them (though he was quite some distance).

“What did you say?! What did you call us?!” he shouted angrily. “Say it to my face, you bastard! I want to hear you say it again before I shove my fist so far down your throat that it comes out of your arse!”

Alfred would have normally gone ahead and try beating up the man for what he said but instead he just stood there, crestfallen.

The tourist just seemed to sneer.

"You heard me, fag."

Alfred quickly jumped into action, lightly tugging at Arthur's arm and oddly enough being the calmer one this time around.

"Come on Arthur. Let's just leave him alone. Does us no good beating him up."

Arthur struggled against his boyfriend’s hold, trying to get him off.

“He can’t say that to us,” he seethed. “He can’t just think that’s okay. He can’t get away with it, Alfred. I won’t let him say that about us.”

He turned back to the tourist, having stopped walking towards him because of Alfred’s hold in his arm.

“I bet the ladies love an arrogant, narrow-minded, homophobic cunt like you! Not getting enough or something?”

Alfred frowned at that, knowing that he should really pull Arthur away but he was a bit angry with the tourist as well.

So when he heard Arthur accusing the other of not getting enough of 'something', Alfred couldn't help but raise the eyebrow. Yet soon he tugged his boyfriend close, giving him a good long and deep kiss before pulling away with a satisfied grin over at the tourist.

"Gotta admit, he's pretty damned good in bed also. Love it when he fucks me into the bed hard."

The tourist looked absolutely disgusted and a bit nervous.

"You're just missin' out."

And with that, he pulled Arthur away from the tourist.

Arthur hadn’t expected to be kissed so suddenly but went along with it, glad that Alfred wasn’t willing to tolerate it, either. He tried not to blush when Alfred started to speak quite so openly about their bedroom activities. He hoped that there weren’t many people around to hear all of that.

He just stuck up his middle finger at the tourist as he was pulled away. The look on the other man’s face had been at least somewhat satisfying, at least. He picked up his shoes as they passed the two pairs. He took Alfred’s hand in his, trying to head on down the beach to get away from the tourist in case Arthur was tempted to punch him again.

“Well, I certainly didn’t expect you’d say something like that,” he mused quietly.

Alfred just grinned widely over at the other, winking at him.

"Well I'm full of surprises it seems, huh?" He asked with an amused tone. He licked his lips a bit, thinking for a few moments.

"And plus he's an outright bastard!" After all, he did interrupt his question.

He sighed a bit at the thought of it as he thumbed lightly at his pocket.

Arthur felt his heart do funny acrobatics in his chest as Alfred winked at him. It still, even after being together for so long, made him feel light and in love.

“Mm,” he hummed in response, briefly wondering what Alfred had previously been about to ask. “What was it you wanted earlier? To go in the sea or something?” he turned his head, reaching up for a second to peck him on the cheek as they continued on down the beach.

“I would roll your trousers up, if I were you. You’ll get them wet with how the sea’s so close.”

Alfred hesitated at that and he glanced away, shaking his head.

"It's...it's nothing like that," He murmured with a soft sigh. He swallowed thickly but he knew now wasn't really the time to ask. Not after that tourist interrupted.

Yet now his courage was shot to hell again.

He wasn't even really in the mood to go into the water, despite getting the satisfaction of flustering the tourist.

Arthur furrowed his brow a little in concern, looking at Alfred closely.

“Are you alright?” he asked gently. “You shouldn’t let that twat get to you, you know,” he tried to be comforting by squeezing Alfred’s hand tenderly. Judging by how Alfred looked away, it was quite clear to Arthur that he didn’t really want to talk about it.

But he couldn’t have Alfred being miserable on their holiday.

He dropped his shoes a few feet from the water’s edge and let go of Alfred’s hand, backing up into the water. Surprisingly for him, it wasn’t cold at all. It was actually quite pleasant.

Once he was a certain distance back, he bent down and splashed a small amount of water in Alfred’s direction, smiling challengingly.

Alfred just sighed as Arthur tried to comfort him. It wasn't really the tourist that bothered him, it was mainly just the situation. The situation that he could have...well...finally done it but it was all ruined. Just because of one damned person. It was frustrating beyond belief.

Yet he soon jumped as Arthur splashed a small amount of water at him and he glanced over at him, raising an eyebrow.

He couldn't help but smile a bit, taking up the challenge.

"You shouldn't have done that, Arthur," He teased with a small grin before going forward so he could splash a lot more water at Arthur's direction.

“Roll up your sodding trousers! I will not have you whining that you’re wet for the rest of the day,” Arthur grinned, rolling his eyes.

He yelped as Alfred splashed at him (it got part of his t-shirt wet), quick to splash back. He knew that he probably should just take his t-shirt of so that he wouldn’t get anymore wet, but he wasn’t overly keen on showing his torso to total strangers. But then again… he could? Might take the situation down a much more erotic route?

He refrained, for now.

Arthur ran deeper into the water, soon bending down to splash him again.

Alfred scoffed at that and when he saw Arthur run deeper into the water, he quickly remembered what he had in his trousers. So he quickly took a few steps back, trying to swiftly pull his trousers down at the same time before looking over at the other and grinning.

Soon enough he went into the water once more, splashing more water on Arthur, aiming for his torso and near his face.

Arthur hadn’t expected Alfred to strip to his boxers but didn’t complain.

He spluttered as he was hit in the face with a wall of water. He grumbled, as though more determined. He began to try and hit more water at the other, unable to hide the grin on his face as he did so.

Alfred grinned as well and he soon jumped on the other so they both fell in the water. Yet he knew how Arthur was with water so he quickly pulled him back up, grinning and wet and everything else.

"Now we're both wet and there's nothin' you can do about it," He laughed, obviously feeling better than from before.

What the tourist said was out of his mind now and all he could see was this man that he loved so much.

And they always called Arthur a stodgy man. While he sometimes was, he still had his pretty fun moments.

“Alfred!”

Arthur hadn’t expected to be tackled and yelled in surprise as he and Alfred fell backwards into the water. He coughed and spluttered as he was pulled upright, still in shock from it. Now everything on him was wet. Most importantly, his wallet and his phone. And although Arthur wanted to stay in a good, light-hearted mood, he might possibly need to get a new phone and replace all of his contacts.

He scrambled back up on to his feet and pulled his belongings out of his pocket. His wallet seemed to be okay, the leather having taken the impact to save the paper inside (though the leather was obviously ruined) and his phone… well, the screen was black and wouldn’t turn on.

He shot Alfred a look, quite a drastic change to before and stalked out of the water.

Yes, he could be fun. But he could also be a total party-pooper.

Alfred hesitated at that and he swallowed thickly, looking a bit down again.

He really was ruining everything here. Biting his lip, he shifted around uneasily and slowly he got out of the water.

"I...I'm sorry...I forgot," He murmured, looking a bit guilty. He noticed the phone and he quietly shifted around.

"I'll get that fixed for you. It just mainly needs to dry off."

He shifted around a bit uneasily, sulking a bit again. "I'll disassemble it for you later."

Soon he went over to grab his trousers.
