My boyfriend's in the band

"Birthday?" Alfred tilted his head and looked at Arthur. While he liked Arthur's parents very much, he didn't know if he could handle a party with Arthur's brothers present... Unless he and Arthur hid the entire time...

"Yeah. My grandmother's celebrating her 80 birthday next month and the whole family will come from England and all around the world." Arthur explained. "And she asked us to bring our boy or girlfriends. Granny really loves to see everyone together."

"Wow... It sounds like fun. I'll come." Alfred smiled and held Arthur's hand. If the whole family was going to be there, it would probably be easy to find from Arthur's brothers.

"Really? That's great." Arthur smiled. He'd hoped that Alfred would come even though he was a little afraid of him getting scarred of his rather big and sometimes weird family.

"Just as long as you stay with me, okay?" Alfred whispered, chewing on his bottom lip in nervousness. He didn't want to be left alone with Arthur's family, even if some of them were very nice.

The older teen grinned at this. "Of course I'll stay with you." He leaned forward kissing his boyfriend longingly.
Soon after Arthur's mother put huge amounts of food on the table. "Mom...we're only four people. You don't need to cook for a whole football team all the time."

Alfred blushed brightly at the kiss but returned it when he realized that Arthur's parents weren't watching. Good, that made things less awkward...
Once the food was served, he grinned as his stomach growled. "It looks delicious!"

Sheryl beamed at Alfreds comment. "Glad you like it sweety. I hope the taste will be as good as the looks." She chirped and sat down next to her husband. "Now tell us, how did you and Arthur met? He didn't tell us much about it."

Once the food was served, Alfred started to eat, finding that the food was very good. Too bad Arthur couldn't cook... Looking up at Mrs. Kirkland, Alfred laughed softly at the memory. "I, um, I kinda ran him down in the hallway."

Mrs. Kirkland laughed. "Well that's not as romantic as I'd hoped but I guess it works."
Arthur sighted and eat his food quitely. Why was his mother always so talkative?

Alfred continued to talk with Arthur's parents, oblivious to how his boyfriend might be feeling. Oh well, Arthur's parents were really saying anything embarrassing.

Soon enough the dinner was finished and Sheryl began to clean the dishes while Arthurs father put the desert on the table. "Sheryl has made your favourite pie." He smiled at his son.

"What's your favorite pie, Arthur?" Alfred grinned, excited for homemade pie. That sounded delicious... Pie was great, no matter what, though.

Arthur smiled at the chance of getting some home made pie. Of course he loved the cakes he could buy at the german bakery he'd shown to Alfred but getting a cake from his mother was something different.
"Apple Cinamon Pie." He explained to Alfred while getting some dishes.

Alfred grinned as he was served a slice of pie and he was excited to be able to try some homemade pie. "It looks really good!"

"Eat as much as you can get before Arthur does the same." Mr. Kirkland laughed while walking over to the window to light a cigarette.
"Didn't you want to quit?" Arthur asked raising one eyebrow.

Alfred laughed and grabbed two slices before looking over at Arthur and then at his mother. He decided to stay quiet, because he didn't want to cause any problems between the two of them.

Rhys frowned a bit at the mentioning of his son. "Well, I did but now I've changed my mind." He said inhaling the smoke. "You wanted to quit yourself but I can still smell it on you so don't you dare scold me."
Arthur huffed. "At least I wasn't told by the doctor to stop."

Alfred fidgeted a little bit, trying to focus on his pie. He had had the suspicion that Arthur smoked, he had smelled it on his clothes but he hadn't really thought it was a problem...

Sheryl sighted and walked over to her son and husband. "Stop it you two. Can't you drop this subject for once?" She asked. Arthur and his father had this conversation more then once in the past and most family members thought it quite annoying. "He started." Arthur pouted but dropped the subject anyway.

Alfred forced himself to finish the pieces of pie that he had grabbed before glancing over at Arthur. "Um... C-Can I see your room? I'm curious to see what it looks like..."

Arthur wanted to put a piece of pie in his mouth when Alfred suddenly asked about his room.
"Huh? Well...sure if you want to see it." He said and grabbed his plate with pie while leading Alfred upstairs.

Alfred smiled weakly before following Arthur out of the kitchen, wanting to be away from the tension filled atmosphere. He always hated it when family fought...

They reached Arthurs room at the end of the second floor. "There's not too much in there since I took most of my stuff to the dorms." He explained and went inside. "Make yourself at home."

"Sorry... I just don't like seeing people fight..." Frowning a little bit, Alfred sat on Arthur's bed, making himself comfortable.
