Fighting back a fresh wave of tears, Alfred nodded weakly. What else was he supposed to say? That no, they weren't all that different, that they could still be together? But he couldn't bring himself to say that and he turned away, hurrying into the dorm building and leaving his boyfriend, well... ex-boyfriend behind.

When Alfred had left the car Arthur suddenly felt empty and very alone. He didn't want to let him go but what could he do to hold him back? He sighed and let his head rest on the wheel. "I'm such an idiot." He cursed and fought back the tears that were already burning in his eyes. "Stupid, fucking idiot."
