Alfred should have truly expected it but for some reason, he didn't. Maybe it was because of the fact that men generally didn't get their arses groped or anything like that.

His grip tightened around the pint though and his cheeks flushed red, glancing around to make sure that no one else saw.

He could at least relent to that.

"Much better, I suppose," He mumbled in embarrassment, Despite himself, he really enjoyed that.

It felt quite nice, if he had to admit.

Arthur chuckled, rather pleased with himself although he wouldn’t push it any further. He wasn’t going to put them at risk, even if he did feel boisterous.

He soon found himself looking at the dance floor, which is where he noticed all of the attractive young women dancing and socialising. He couldn’t have any of them now (although there were certainly a few which he would have liked to have his way with) but Alfred could. Arthur had noticed the way that women had been looking at Alfred, how they flustered and fawned over him. He could probably get into the corset of any of them.

“You could have any of them, Alfred,” Arthur started, looking at a particularly pretty young lady. “Have you ever thought about what it’d be like to be with a woman?” he looked up at him. “Having not tasted the flesh yet?” he smirked, clearly saying the last part for show.

“A woman is incredibly soft, you know. Cherub-like lips, curvaceous figure, bloody great tits…” he sighed, losing himself to his thoughts for a few moments. He loved Alfred and wouldn’t replace him for anyone, however, he did miss women’s bodies.

“You can be honest with me,” he looked up at him, genuinely curious.

Alfred had watched the party go by though he was mainly observing, not really wanting any of the women or men that were dancing on that floor. He knew how a few women fawned over him but he didn't take too much thought into it.

After all, he was dedicated to Arthur. Even if his parents wanted him to marry a fine woman from royalty.

Though it didn't help the women's case that he flirted right back, just out of good nature and show.

He hummed when he heard Arthur, shrugging a bit.

"I've been curious," He admitted with a soft sigh. "I've thought of it before and maybe back then, wanted to try."

He reddened as Arthur teased him, obviously embarrassed.

"But I have no intention of doing something with people whom I don't love."

Arthur arched an eyebrow, listening to Alfred without interrupting him. Alfred was far too sweet, too chaste to be handling someone such as Arthur who, unlike Alfred, was not even close to being a virgin. He couldn’t help but feel touched that Alfred would say something so affectionate (although it probably wasn’t intentional) and all he wanted to do was tell him that he loved him, too, with all of his heart forevermore.

Instead, he just smiled secretively, half-hoping that Alfred would notice and feel the same butterflies that he was feeling in his stomach.

“They will be blessed, no doubt,” he murmured softly. “An untainted soul for eternal love? That sounds rather lovely to me… you being the untainted soul, of course.” Arthur looked up at his lover, yearning for the privacy they had, had a few minutes ago.

His gaze flickered to Alfred’s lips a few times, his brain subliminally telling him what he wanted to do; to kiss him, obviously. But he couldn’t, despite how much he wished that he could.

“We shouldn’t be discussing such intimate things in public, my apologies,” he said hastily as he spotted his father glowering at them. He quickly turned away, taking another drink which he gulped down vigorously. Emptying the mug, he slammed it down on to the table and shuddered at the bitter taste of the alcohol burning his throat.

“You shouldn’t,” hiccup, “let me stand by this barrel of ale a moment longer, my friend. Let us…” hiccup. “Migrate somewhere that I will be less tempted to drink my bodyweight in poison.”

Arthur smiled sardonically at Alfred and patted his arm, moving away from the table filled with alcohol.

“Can you see Made-” hiccup, “-line anywhere?” Hiccup. “Damn hiccups!”

Alfred smiled over at Arthur, arching an eyebrow in interest.

"You mean that you're the blessed one, right?" He teased lightly though he was honest about it. After all, Arthur was the one that he loved. Out of everyone in both of their kingdoms, this lovely prince of Albion was his and he was the other's as well.

After all, he had given his virginity to him.

He wanted the privacy between them all over again but instead he gave the other a small smile. He wanted to at least kiss the top of his head but he held himself back.

"Alright. Let's get away from the ale then," He laughed before putting a hand on Arthur's shoulder, leading him away from the barrel.

He tactfully ignored the king's glare directed at them. After all, Madeline was pregnant. What more did he want?

He looked around for Madeline before shaking his head.

"I don't see her anywhere. Maybe she suffers from that...morning sickness of hers again."

“Hush,” Arthur jibbed, unable to not grin. He appreciated Alfred’s hand on his shoulder, grateful for the touch, even if it wasn’t particularly intimate, it just meant that Alfred’s attention was on him and him alone.

“Perhaps… I am so very glad that I’m not a woman,” he admitted. Not only because of a woman’s biological pain that they had to endure, but because of status in world affairs and society, too. He stumbled forwards a little and hurriedly grabbed on to Alfred so that he wouldn’t fall.

One of the evening’s entertainers was beside them, and laughed a bit as Arthur stumbled.

“Methinks the prince has drunk too much,” he said to Alfred.

Arthur wanted to tell the bloke to sod off but decided against it.

Alfred just grinned at Arthur. He wasn't nearly as drunk as Arthur so he trusted himself in taking care of the other. He would definitely be able to do that.

"Yeah, me too. It seems like a pain, to be quite honest," He admitted. Soon enough though he saw as Arthur fell forward and he quickly grabbed the other so he could catch him from falling.

"You alright there?" He laughed a bit but soon he looked over at the entertainer, raising an eyebrow. Though he quickly smiles again.

"Well it is a joyous day for the prince, you know. He drinks in good cheer!"

Arthur grumbled a little at first but soon straightened up and beamed at the entertainer, as though to support Alfred’s words.

“I made a lady pregnant,” he said intelligently (inanely).

The entertainer just nodded. “Yes. Yes, you did.” The man was quick to move away, which made Arthur snicker, having enjoyed freaking the man out.

“I’m fine, Alfred,” Arthur turned to the younger prince and straightened himself out, patting down his clothes and such. “What would you like to do, my friend?” he asked, not really knowing what to suggest that they do.

Alfred laughed and rolled his eyes. He knew that Arthur didn't. He knew that it was the exact opposite of that. But of course he held his tongue in his mouth, trying not to make a smart comeback to Arthur's obviously intelligence response.

"Yes you did, Prince Arthur. We're all extremely proud of you."

He smiled a bit but soon he glanced back at the King.

"I don't know. Your father doesn't look too happy with us hanging around each other too much or well...maybe it's because you're drunk. Probably the first...or both."

“I’m not drunk!” Arthur protested, waving his hands from side to side. “No. Nope. Not at all. What a load of hogwash. I’m not drunk at all. I offends me that you would suggest so.”

Hiccup.

“I don’t care what my father thinks, the deed has been done and I have no need to appease him.” He shrugged and let out a small laugh (again). “You know, he doesn’t even come to my training sessions anymore. He used to come and watch or participate. I’m a better swordsman than he is,” Arthur looked across at his father, meeting his gaze. “Maybe he’s afraid that my hand might slip.”

Alfred rolled his eyes.

"Denial won't do you any good, Arthur. It's obvious that you're quite drunk. A man would have to be blind and deaf not to notice."

He chuckled at the thought. He wanted to get closer to Arthur, but at the same time he didn't want to pull him away from the party considering that the king definitely had his sights on the both of them at the moment. There was definitely no way that they could slip out of the party like this.

"Ah..." He frowned at the thought. His father was always rather supportive of him. "Maybe he is. Come on, don't stare at your father too long. You don't want to make him angry."

Arthur grunted.

“He has nothing to be angry about. I don’t understand why we aren’t just being allowed to,” hiccup, “carry on with our lives now that Madeline is with a child.” Arthur realised belatedly that his father was probably expecting him to be with Madeline, where ever she was. Perhaps with her lover?

Arthur finally looked away from his father.

“Let’s go. I no longer want to be here.” Hiccup.

Alfred just sighed and he patted Arthur on the back. He could understand Arthur's willingness to just want to move on and admittedly, he really didn't blame him. Once Madeline had the child, everything should be in the clear.

Right?

He just hoped that the servant at least held some similar features to Arthur so they could possibly get by it. It wouldn't be right if the child ended up having brown hair.

"Are you sure?" Despite his question, Alfred started to lead him away from the party, feeling a bit anxious.

Arthur was not at all worried about the child having similar features to him. His family had, had hair colours of all varieties throughout the centuries and Arthur would be able to cover it up somehow. So long as they were the same race, it would be fine.

Regardless, Arthur would love and protect the child from people that suspected them… Arthur hoped it was a boy. If it wasn’t, then Arthur would struggle to get the country to accept that they would have a queen.

“Positive,” hiccup. Arthur found himself wobbling on his feet as they started to move again and held on to Alfred’s upper arm to keep himself upright. His hiccups were beginning to subside, at least.

“Come along, prince. Guide me home.”

Alfred rolled his eyes at that, letting Arthur lean most of his weight on him. He just kept walking forward towards Arthur's room, smiling a bit at him.

"You're already home, stupid. I'm bringing you to your bedroom."

The walk to the bedroom seemed a lot longer than usual but when a drunk was leaning against you, you really couldn't do all that much about it.

He just hoped that everything would be alright with the kid. Hopefully a son. It would make things a lot easier for Arthur.

All they could do in the end was hope.

“Mmmm, well… shush,” Arthur purred in amusement.

It was difficult for him to move as quickly as he originally might have liked but he’d drunk so much that the room was moving quite a bit, making it tricky for him to place one foot in front of the other to walk in a straight line. But he had Alfred with him, which was good. He quite wanted Alfred to spend the night, but he wasn’t totally sure that he’d be able to coax him into the bedsheets so readily. Alfred wasn’t the type of guy that would take advantage.

When they finally reached his room, Arthur stumbled forwards and fell on to his bed with a groan.

“That took too long,” he whined.

Alfred just laughed at that, closing and locking the bedroom door behind him. He soon walked over to the bed, sitting down comfortable before sighing in contentment.

"Well maybe next time you shouldn't drink that much," He mused with a small teasing grin.

He was only teasing the other. He really didn't care how much the other drank as long as he didn't poison himself in the end.

"It was a fun party though."

It really was, especially when he was able to dance with Arthur alone.

“No, you just walk too slow,” Arthur smirked, playing along. He wouldn’t admit that it was his fault that they took a while, even though he knew it. “Honestly, darling, with all that power in you, I’m amazed that you don’t also invest it in your walking speed.”

Arthur kicked off his boots and shuffled further back on to the bed, lying across it sideways.

“I’m glad you enjoyed the party though,” his expression softened somewhat. “I wish that I could have spent more time with you.”

Alfred laughed at that.

"Maybe I would have been able to go faster if you weren't drunk. Maybe I should have just carried you instead, though I'm pretty sure that your father would get extremely angry at me doing that."

He would have liked doing that though.

"After all, I am strong." He winked over at Arthur playfully.

He laid down on the bed next to the other, simply relaxing.

"I really did enjoy it," He admitted with a soft sigh. "Well, we have the most of the night now...right?"

Arthur laughed, clearly amused. “Goodness, that would have humiliated my family in front of the foreign dignitaries for centuries. I’m glad that you didn’t, I must admit,” he stretched his arms upwards. He yawned a little bit as he stretched out his body.

“Mhmm, very strong,” he agreed without any hesitations, smirking a little. “I’m glad for that strength, I must admit. Makes things much more interesting, hm?”

Not that Arthur wasn’t strong himself, just not as unusually strong as Alfred, who also had the physique to match. Alfred was bulky and strong whilst Arthur was more lithe, more wiry.

“That we do,” he agreed and rolled on to his front, looking across to Alfred with a small smile. “The night is still young.”

Alfred barked out a laugh. "At least they wouldn't know that we're well...you know...together. That might have made them even more embarrassed. Though I really do like the idea of picking you up in my arms in front of everyone in the kingdom and all of the other kingdoms as well!"

He actually really enjoyed Arthur's physique. It was lovely. Lithe and wiry but still strong. He didn't want someone as built as he was but at the same time, he also wanted someone strong.

"So...what do you want to do?" He asked curiously, his lovely smile on his lips.

He just wanted Arthur to have a good night. This was a day of celebration after all. Even if it wasn't Arthur's child, at the same time, it excused him from doing what he really didn't want to do.

Arthur blushed a little but shrugged. “I would have liked for us to be truthful to everyone about us but… we can’t. And you are never picking me up in front of everyone. That’ll be far too embarrassing for me to bear.” He seemed a little flustered but as Alfred’s beloved smile appeared, Arthur seemed to calm down immediately.

He reached out and traced the line of Alfred’s lips, trying to engrain that smile into his mind. He was totally smitten.

“Should you really be asking a drunk man that?”

Alfred smirked. "You know what. Maybe I'll do just that. Picking you up in front of everyone sounds like the best idea I've ever had."

He hummed, leaning against the finger that was tracing his lip.

It was just so nice being with Arthur like this.

He loved the man so much. It was insane to think of everything that happened between them. To think that they first hated each other and he even tried killing the other. He was young and rash but it was still a rough time of their life.

Then everything had to change. Maybe it would have been easier for the both of them if they remained hating each other...but he was glad that it didn't turn out that way. Arthur just gave him the emotional satisfaction that he needed.

He felt utterly complete with him.

"I thought you weren't drunk," He joked before humming. "Well, maybe I shouldn't but I'm curious as to what a drunk man wants to do."

Arthur tugged gently at Alfred’s lower lip, smiling tenderly at him.

They relationship really had changed dramatically. They were not the same people anymore. And that was a good thing, really. Arthur was not as arrogant and cold as he once was, and Alfred was not as stubborn and (in Arthur’s opinion) stupid.

“Hmm, you make a good point,” he near-enough giggled, slowly leaning down to kiss him. He held it for a few moments before murmuring against Alfred’s lips, “Guess.”

Alfred just raised an eyebrow when Arthur leant down and even though he was smiling a bit, he couldn't help but give Arthur a stern look.

"Arthur...you know that you're drunk. I can't in my right mind do that with you when you're under such an influence."

Because even if they were together with each other...he would never take advantage of Arthur while he was drunk. Maybe if he was a bit more drunk, then he would be more than willing but he didn't want to do that to Arthur.

He had to admit that the kiss did feel good though.
